Hi, I've been having issues playing The Sims 1 on Windows 7 64 bit. I've had a good look on the internet. Some people say it runs without issue. Some people have to run as administrator to get it running. Some people have to run in XP service pack 3 compatibility. Some service pack 2. Some even Vista. Some people say installing outside of Program Files (x86) works. I have tried all of these things, but nothing works. The game installed fine (the only issue I could see was a complaint that I had less than 64MB RAM. If I try to start, I get told to run as administrator. If I run as administrator, the get exits silently. The UAE (or whatever it is called) pops up to ask if I want the sims to make changes to my hard drive, but other than that, no process appears in task manager, or anything. Running from the command line produces no error. There are no clues as to what is going wrong. For those who are interested my system specs are: • Intel Pentium G3258 • 8GB RAM • Nvidia 750ti • Drive C: Intel 730 256GB SSD • Drive D: Seagate 1TB HDD • Drive E: Pioneer Bluray drive I've tried installing to both the C and the D drive, but no luck. So, my questions are: Have you managed to get it working? Did you have any issues? Can you see anything inherently wrong with my set up? Blackberry bold software update. EDIT: I'm trying to get The Sims Deluxe Edition to run, but I do have all the expansion packs also. Thanks for your help. I don't think the instructions in the video were 100% appropriate (downloading an illegitamate copy, in particular). I did try installing again, and using a no-cd crack, and that did solve my issue. For anyone interested, I installed, The Sims Deluxe Edition first. Then installed all the expansion packs in order. Finally, when it was installed, I downloaded a no-cd patch and now I can play. The only thing: despite having a no-cd patch, it still looks for a disc in the drive. ![]() It works fine if I just press continue repeatedly, but it is a bit odd. I can fix it by putting the cd in. Another thing, I have tried with both a complete collection patch, and a making magic patch. Both work fine. I have Windows 10 and TS1 won't even run or start or anything. Just nothing. The disc's launcher won't work either. This is because of SafeDisc or something Edit: HOLY CRAP, I just tried putting my disc in my PC (for the first time in a while) a few weeks after installing the new Windows 10 update. TS1's launcher works. I'm trying to see if the game works, too. Edit 2: The game still does not work. It wants me to sign in as an administrator and launch the game. I'll try later. When you get to the screen that asks you if you want to install it for ALL users or the current user only, go back to the files that you just downloaded and go into the Reg Key folder.
